North American and New Zealand businesses have formed profitable partnerships across many sectors, from agricultural technologies to high value foods and beverages and aviation engineering. North America’s highly sophisticated consumer economy is a perfect market for New Zealand’s premium natural goods and cutting-edge consumer technologies.
Investment from the United States amounted to approximately 15 percent of all investment flows into New Zealand in 2003, and surpassed NZ$3 billion in 2004. A total of over NZ$10 billion was invested between 2001 and 2004. Canadian investment flows are considerably smaller, but are consistent at around NZ$250 million each year.
